One of the secrets to the success of Rhythms International is it’s flexibility and capability of facing any situation it is presented with. Needless to say the economy is taking its toll on everyone and only those who understand what people are going through succeed. In 2009 we make every effort possible to make each festival request come through. For 2010 we feel that many may be facing the same situation.

The Carrot and the Stick…

We know that going on a trip to a festival is a major attraction to many students to join or even remain in the music program. It is also their reward for a year or years of hard work (the proverbial Carrot). If you feel you are in a position where you need to do something for your students but fear the economy may be a major issue then this may be the solution. We have already been doing this for many years but decided to actually label it and offer it to all in a more formal format. We already have many groups reserved for this program for 2010. Some groups only do a trip every other year but in order to motivate their students, decided to take them on a shorter trip, hence the “Festival to Nowhere”! Basically you take your group to a festival right in your hometown. This shortens the duration of the trip, eliminates high transportation costs but still gives the students the feeling of participating in an event with other groups and get the most important part of a festival which is the music education and the awards banquet dinner. You may opt to overnight for one night at the hotel or just come in for the day.

Option 1:

2-Day 7 1-Night with Overnight at Hotel and Breakfast Included

SUNDAY: Group arrives at school in the morning. They meet their Rhythms Tour Manager and board bus. Depart for the festival venue. Performance, adjudication and masterclass for the ensembles. An activity or attraction will be included either in the morning or afternoon depending on the final adjudication schedule. Check-in to your hotel. Free time to enjoy the hotel amenities. 7:30PM Attend the Rhythms International Awards Dinner and Dance with live entertainment. Overnight at the hotel.

MONDAY: Breakfast is served in the hotel. Free time to enjoy the hotel amenities. Possible morning activity. Either transfer back to the school or parents pick them up at the hotel.

Option 2:

Day Trip Only, No Hotel

We may tailor-make any package to meet your groups needs and budget. If we do not have a festival in your hometown we can arrange one within hours.
