Boston Instrumental, Vocal, and Dance Festival

The Concept…

All groups are to arrive either on Friday or Saturday. On Friday night we will have a dinner for all the groups and they will be presented to one another. An evening activity is planned for all the groups. There will be a meeting with the director’s of every school and the Rhythms International Head Adjudicators for the weekend to go over the last minute details.

On Saturday the groups will go to the various venues for the clinics master classes in the morning. Free time will be scheduled for lunch. Sunday is the festival adjudication day with one hour of warm-up and one hour on stage in front of our three judges who will then conduct a final clinic with your ensemble. Every performing ensemble will receive a Rhythms International Awards Plaque. The closing event is the semi-formal awards dinner and dance with live entertainment.

Boston (Bean town) may be one of the oldest cites in the USA but it is also home to “Blue Men”, the Boston Symphony and one of the birthplaces of the hardcore punk genre of music. The New England Aquarium and the Science Museum not to mention the Town of Salem join to the long list of excellent attractions that make our Rhythms Boston Program such a success! This special event is back by popular demand. After the incredible success in Quebec City in 2010 we have decided to offer this special event in Boston for 2011. The very essence of the program itself is the sharing of music through participation, cooperation and exchange. The educational value of the master classes and clinics by some of the best people in the field makes this event one not to be missed.
